Pilates Class

Pilates

Pilates is a method of controlled and systematic movements, which should look and feel like a workout (not a therapy) when properly manifested. If practiced with consistency, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength in the abdominal and back muscles and develops control and endurance in the whole human body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong powerhouse, and improving coordination and balance.

Pilates allows for all exercises to be modified, in terms of difficulty levels, as well as modified for clients’ specific goals and/or limitations. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises. It is great for people with chronic back problems, poor posture or reduced flexibility.

Here at Arra Physiotherapy Clinic, we run morning and evening Pilates classes, in 6 week blocks.

Furthermore, we offer one-to-one Pilates
sessions for clients who cannot commit to the blocks of 6 classes because of busy schedules, certain health issues or inability to execute certain exercises.
